Description
Once upon a time there was a miller who had three sons. He owned a mill, a donkey and a tomcat. When the miller died, his sons inherited his possessions. All of them are happy with their inheritance, except the youngest, who inherited the tomcat. At first he thinks of making a pair of gloves out of the cat's fur. But when the tomcat starts talking to him, he changes his mind. The cat wants a pair of boots from the cobbler and the son spends his last money on them. The tomcat wanders into the forest in his boots and starts catching partridges for the king using clever tactics and does other chores. When the cat comes to the wizard's castle and challenges him, he insinuates to the wizard that he could not transform himself into an elephant because it would be much too difficult. The wizard then turns into an elephant and proves his magic to the cat. Finally, the cat outwits the wizard and the wizard turns into a mouse. The magician is then eaten by Puss in Boots in the shape of a mouse. You can find out what became of the miller's son by listening to the fairy tale.
