Description
Rapunzel's mother did not succeed in curbing her ravenous appetite for the raisins growing in the neighbour's garden during her pregnancy. Her husband, however, was not strong enough to resist her. When he tried to steal the lettuce for his wife from the garden of a sorceress for the second time, he was caught by her and had to promise her his child as punishment. Immediately after the birth, she took the newborn, named it Rapunzel, and when the girl was twelve years old, she locked her in a secluded doorless tower. The only way to get inside was for Rapunzel to let down her long hair from the skylight when called, so that the sorceress could climb up it and provide her with food. A king's son, attracted by Rapunzel's beautiful singing, overheard her, imitated the sorceress's calling formula, drew himself up to the beautiful girl and won her love. But what happened when the witch overheard this, why the king's son went blind and what Rapunzel's tears had to do with the king's son being able to see again, you will find out at this fairy tale station.
