Description
West Coaster has been Pacific Park's signature coaster since it opened in 1996. The coaster's double helix track has become an iconic profile for the pier and is often featured in movies, television shows and commercials, and is only surpassed by the decades-old wooden coasters at Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk and Belmont Shores.
It is the only steel roller coaster on the West Coast that is located on a pier. Spectacular views of Santa Monica Bay and the Pacific Ocean are guaranteed for passengers as it travels from one end of the park to the other at around 56 kilometres per hour.
The ride begins with a climb to the top (about 15 metres) before plunging into the first helix.
