Die chinesische Nachtigall

This is the story of the Chinese nightingale. Many, many hundreds of years ago, there was a very powerful emperor in China. He loved the singing of the little gray nightingale more than anything! So that he could listen to the singing undisturbed, he had a beautiful garden temple built for the nightingale. Every morning he went there with his ministers and servants and heard the song with great pleasure.

To make himself particularly popular with the emperor, the king of his neighbors gave him a nightingale made of pure gold. When you teased it, it moved and began to sing. The emperor was delighted with this gift. He couldn't get enough of the golden nightingale and wanted to hear its song again and again. But the little gray nightingale was forgotten. Sadly, she flew away into a deep dark forest.
