Description
Once upon a time ... THE WISHING TABLE
Once upon a time there was a tailor who had three sons.
One day, the boys moved to the world to learn a trade.
The eldest wanted to become a miller, the middle miller and the youngest carpenter.
When the eldest son had studied with a teacher for three years,
his education was over.
As a thank you, the boy got a wooden table.
When you said, "Little table, cover thyself." delicious food appeared on the table.
On the way home, the boy stayed at a hostel.
"Unfortunately, I have no more food for you," said the landlord.
"That does not matter," said the boy. "Little table, cover thyself." ...
and already the food was regulated.
When it was night, the jealous host exchanged the table secretly.
At home, the boy wanted to show his table. "Little table, cover thyself." But nothing happened.
Even for the second son, the training was over.
As thanks, he got a donkey from his teacher. "If you say, Bricklebrit,
the donkey will lift his tail and give you gold coins" said the master.
This son also stayed at the inn.
The innkeeper discovered how the boy got the gold pieces.
At night he exchanged the donkey secretly.
The father did not know what to do with his sons
should.
One claimed to have an enchanted table that
others an enchanted donkey. But nothing happened.
Disappointed, he wrote a letter to his youngest son.
He told his master what his father had written.
"I think the landlord robbed your brothers. Here, this is my gift. It
is a sack with a cudgel in it. Say: Out of the sack, Cudgel, and the
Cudgel will miss prosecutors a proper beating. Go home now."
The boy made his way.
On the way he returned to the same inn.
Will he be able to teach the innkeeper a lesson with his gift?
Oh how nice it would be, just to say "Little table, cover thyself" and already the table would be richly covered,
