About the Park
Al Ain Zoo was opened in Al Ain back in 1968. Al Ain is located about 160 kilometres east of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), directly on the border with Oman. The zoo grounds cover a huge 400ha and are divided into several areas such as the UAE Desert World, Big Cat Oasis or Cheetah Run. The park is home to mammals, reptiles and birds. Different species of flamingos, Rothschild giraffes and white rhinos can be found in the zoo as well as pumas, hyenas and Nile crocodiles. Special attractions include feeding the giraffes and a safari through a separate part of the large complex,
