Climb on the back of one of the 90 carved wood horses or get into one of the richly decorated carriages. No matter what you choose, you will feel truly royal.

History:

• Built in 1917 by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters as "The Liberty Carousel" for Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Michigan
• originally had an 18m platform, 72 wooden horses, four carriages and sleighs and space for 99 passengers, five next to each other
• Relocated to Olympic Park in Irvington, New Jersey
• Purchased by Walt Disney Company in 1967
• a carriage from the original carousel was lost during the 1967 renovation, but was rediscovered and installed in 1997

Specialities:

• Was extensively renovated and repainted in 1967 to match the Cinderella theme
• Girls from the original design can still be seen at the top
• all original horses were carved from maple
