Peoria Zoo

In Peoria, Illinois, the Glen Oak Zoo was opened in 1955, then renamed Peoria Zoo in 2009. A smaller area of just under 6ha is offset by a selection of around 100 animal species. With the construction of its African exhibit, the zoo doubled its original area and from the Zambesi River Lodge, visitors have a great overview of the entire area. In the Australia area, where you can meet emus eye-to-eye, a suitable environment has been created for these animals.

Aldabara giant tortoises, zebra mice and also pancake tortoises can be found here as well as African stone phytons or Madagascan tree boas.
