About the Park
The state of Indiana lies between Illinois and Ohio. About halfway between Indianapolis (150 kilometres north) and Chicago (190 kilometres south), the Indiana Beach amusement park and water park is located north of the city of Monticello on Lake Shafer. The park opened in 1926 under the name Ideal Beach and was only renamed to its current name in 1951; by 2023 it was already operating 6 roller coasters. The 7th roller coaster is planned to open in 2024. Of course there are many other attractions and for the hot days also a small water park with slides. The park is operated by IB Parks & Entertainment, which owns 2 other parks such as Clementon Park and Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World.
