About the Park

The Hawaiian Falls Garland water park (also known as Hawaiian Falls Firewheel) is located just 30 kilometres north of the Texan city of Dallas. It was opened to visitors for the first time on 24 May 2003 in Garland, Texas, under the name Hawaiian Falls and was the first park in the Hawaiian Falls chain. Hawaiian Falls Garland covers an area of approximately 49,000 square metres and is located next to the Spring Creek Forest Preserve.

The park was built between the city of Garland and Hawaiian Falls for around 5.5 million dollars in a public-private partnership - like all Hawaiian Falls parks - based on this model. In this model, the cities contribute funds and/or other incentives, and the parks are then built on public land. Each of the parks has its own lease structure (from underwriting land and infrastructure costs (Garland and The Colony) to 100 per cent funding).

In 2020, the park was acquired by the operator group Premier Parks, LLC.
