Georgia Aquarium

In Atlanta, the capital of the US state of Georgia, you will find the Georgia Aquarium, which opened in 2005, at Pemberton Place, where you will also find the World of Coca-Cola and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. At the time of its opening, the aquarium was the largest in the world, with an area of 81,000 square metres. In the various freshwater and saltwater tanks, which have a capacity of 31 million litres, you will find over 120,000 animals from 500 species. You can meet Californian sea lions in Pier 225, marvel at sea dragons, beluga whales, Pacific giant octopuses or Japanese giant crabs in the Cold Water Quest, marvel at the inhabitants of rivers worldwide in River Scout or marvel at the largest living exhibition of live reefs and their inhabitants in Tropical Diver. You can also linger at the daily shows with dolphins or in the huge acrylic glass tunnel Ocean Voyager and experience how whale sharks or devil rays, among others, swim back and forth over your head. In the 4D Funbelivable Theatre, you can also virtually immerse yourself in the various water and animal worlds and experience exciting adventures. Every year, over 2.5 million visitors of all ages visit the Georgia Aquarium and spend unforgettable hours in a world that almost doesn't seem real.
