Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier

The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier in Texas is one of the most spectacular amusement parks in the United States. Located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, the amusement pier juts out about 300 metres into the sea and combines classic fairground flair with modern attractions. A popular pier already existed here in the 1940s, but it was destroyed by storms.
