Sidewinder

Here at Elitch Gardens, experience the "Sidewinder", one of only three looping roller coasters of this type developed by Arrow Dynamics. Unlike ordinary roller coasters, you don't find the station in the valley, but have to go up to a height of 15 metres, because this is where the ride starts. The train leaves the station, races down the hill, through the loop and back up the other hill. After a short breather of a few seconds, the track goes backwards back into the station.

History:
The ride was designed for Magic Springs Theme and Water Park in 1980 and operated there as Roaring Tornado until 1989. Since 1990, the ride has made its rounds as Sidewinder, from 1990 to 1995 at the old Elitch Gardens location until it was relocated.
