About the Park
The Sóstó Zoo / Nyíregyháza Zoo was opened in 1974 in the northern Great Plain of Hungary, north of the large city of Nyíregyháza. On an area of 30 hectares, 500 animal species are presented to the visitors.
The zoo is divided into 7 worlds such as Tarzan Ösvénye, Ausztrália or Ócenárium, where animals from the respective regions are kept together. The zoo also has a unique exhibition system where the exhibits are separated by water-filled moats and paths. You will also find the largest collection of animals in the country. Penguins can be found here as well as elephants or coatis.
