Zoo Ústí nad Labem

Ústí nad Labem is located 70 kilometres south of Dresden and 90 kilometres north of Prague. In 1908, a merchant founded the present-day Ústí nad Labem Zoo here, originally as a bird park. Over the years, the original 6 hectares that the bird park had at its opening have grown to 26 hectares. In addition, there is a development plan that envisages even extensive changes and extensions until 2035. Currently, there are more than 200 animal species in the zoo, ranging from the Malayan bear to the Congolese lion, from fish to birds and invertebrates.
