About the Park

The Korean Folk Village is located in Yongin, about 40 kilometres south of Seoul, and is a unique combination of open-air museum and amusement park. It was created to give visitors a vivid insight into life in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897) and offers numerous entertainment options in addition to historical buildings. The park covers a large area and features traditional hanok houses, craft workshops, temples and farms that have been authentically reconstructed. Visitors can experience what everyday life, festivals and customs were like in Korea several centuries ago.

The amusement park area of the Korean Folk Village stands out in particular for its interactive shows and attractions. Historical displays are complemented by lively performances, including sword fights, traditional dances and plays in the style of the Joseon period. For families and children, there are special areas with rides, carousels and play zones that combine modern entertainment with a historical ambience. In addition, festivals are regularly held to showcase traditional music, mask dances and craftsmanship.

Another highlight is the opportunity to get involved yourself: visitors can try their hand at pottery, paper making or Korean mask crafting in workshops, thus establishing a practical connection to the culture. The gastronomic experience is complemented by authentic Korean food offered in traditional restaurants and market stalls. The Korean Folk Village is thus more than just an amusement park – it is a living cultural centre that uniquely combines history, entertainment and interactive experiences.
