About the Park
The Fira del Ram is much more than just an ordinary fair; it is a deeply rooted tradition and the undisputed highlight of the event calendar in Mallorca's capital, Palma. As soon as the sprawling grounds of Son Fusteret are transformed into a sea of colourful lights, a place of superlatives comes to life, captivating visitors of all ages. As one of the largest travelling fairs in Spain, the fair combines nostalgic charm with state-of-the-art adrenaline-fuelled entertainment and reflects the pure joie de vivre of the island's inhabitants.
At the heart of the Fira are over 170 different attractions offering an impressive variety. For the adventurous, there are state-of-the-art rides that provide thrills with breakneck speeds and dizzying heights. Those who prefer a more classic experience will find a piece of timeless fairground magic in the traditional chain carousels, ghost trains and bumper cars. A special landmark is the majestic Ferris wheel, which is visible from afar in the evening hours and offers passengers an incomparable panoramic view of the glittering night-time silhouette of Palma, stretching all the way to the bay and La Seu Cathedral.
In addition to the rides, the numerous stalls and stands characterise the social fabric of the Fira. The legendary ‘tómbolas’ – raffle stalls where prizes are distributed to the crowd with plenty of humour and loud announcements – are an integral part of the festival's identity. Here, locals mingle with visitors to try their luck at duck fishing, shooting or the popular camel races. The atmosphere is characterised by the cheerful noise of music, the laughter of children and the distinctive voices of the showmen, which give the fair its unmistakable energy.
An essential part of the experience is the gastronomic journey that one embarks on at the Fira del Ram. The smell of freshly fried pastries hangs heavy and sweet in the air. The typical Spanish churros, dipped in hot, thick chocolate, and the Mallorcan bunyols – small doughnuts often sprinkled with sugar – are particular favourites. But there are also plenty of savoury delights: the aroma of sobrassada specialities and meat skewers wafts over from huge barbecues, which are eaten at long wooden tables in convivial company.
