Description
With the opening of the “Kilauea” water coaster on June 12, 2026, the park took on a pioneering role in European technology. The ride, manufactured by ProSlide Technology Inc., is the centerpiece of the Polynesian-Hawaiian themed area “Mana Nui.” Named after the Hawaiian volcano, the ride breaks with traditional conventions by transporting passengers not only downhill but also steeply uphill. The approximately 45-second adventure begins with a European innovation: the FlatBLAST® launch. Instead of launching from a great height, the specially designed 4-person boats are accelerated horizontally directly from the station along a 15-meter-long straight section. Over the course of the 180-meter-long track, the ride defies gravity. Using a system of sequential high-pressure water jets, the boats are propelled up a total of three massive uphill hills at speeds of up to 35 km/h. Another highlight is the two FlyingSAUCER® elements. These giant, semi-open, steep-curved saucers are designed and angled so that centrifugal force pushes the boats far out to the outer edge, creating an intense sensation of weightlessness. After rapid drops from a maximum height of 10 meters, the ride ends in a shallow exit basin with no deep water. With a capacity of up to 770 people per hour and a minimum height requirement of 1.20 meters, the ride has established itself as one of the most modern family attractions.
