Zoo des Marécottes

In the Swiss canton of Valais, near Martigny to be precise, at an altitude of around 1110 metres above sea level, you will find the Zoo des Marécottes, a popular excursion destination all year round. In addition to the picturesque Valais landscape, the highest zoo in Europe offers around 150 different animals such as lynxes, foxes, deer, ibexes, chamois, mouflons and marmots that live or have lived in the Alps. Another highlight right next to the Zoo des Marécottes is certainly the alpine swimming pool, which has been carved into the rock over its entire length of 70 metres and is heated using environmentally friendly solar energy. In summer, it provides the necessary cooling.
