About the Park
The Ambigua Bird Park is located in the Swiss canton of Aargau, more precisely in Zeihen in the Fricktal region. On the 3,000 square metre site of the bird park, you can discover around 400 animals from over 75 parrot and parakeet species in their spacious aviaries. In addition to keas from New Zealand, Bechstein's macaws from the tropical rainforest, sun parakeets and fan parrots from South America, you can also admire orange-bellied parakeets from South-East Asia. More than half of the animals that live in the Ambigua Bird Park come from confiscations or as surrendered animals from private individuals. In addition to taking in these animals, Ambigua Bird Park is also involved in the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) and has already achieved its first breeding successes. The Ambigua Bird Park is located halfway between Zurich and Basel and the animals and their keepers can usually be visited in Zeihen from the end of March to the beginning of December.
