Toni’s Zoo

Toni's Zoo, the second largest zoo in Central Switzerland, has been located in the Rothenburg district of Holzhüsern in the canton of Lucerne, around 12 kilometres from Lucerne, since 1991. Over 400 animals from almost 100 species live on the zoo grounds, which cover around 20,000 square metres. Toni's Zoo is home to meerkats, fox mongooses, leopards, cheetahs, servals, fennecs, steppe zebras, Barbary and squirrel monkeys, various bird species, fish, spiders and millipedes. Reptile lovers also get their money's worth in the reptile houses and can observe green and red iguanas, blue-tongued skinks, stump crocodiles, spurred tortoises, panther tortoises, tiger pythons, boa constrictor imperator, king pythons and tree climbing frogs. Toni's Zoo and the associated restaurant are open all year round so that the animals can be observed at any time of year.
