Swiss Vapeur Parc

In the small village of Le Bouveret on Lake Geneva in the canton of Valais, model railway fans of real steam locomotives and steamships will find the Swiss Vapeur Parc, which has been in operation since 1979. On the grounds of the park, which is run by the Club des amis du Swiss Vapeur Parc, you will find models of over twenty faithfully reproduced and historically significant Swiss buildings such as the "Café de la Treille", the castle of Aigle, the church of Saanen, Plein Roc or the sawmill of Nax. The real highlight of the Swiss Vapeur Parc, however, are the faithfully reproduced, real steam-powered railways and ships on a scale of 1:4. In addition to models of the Furka-Oberalp Railway, Bex Villars Bretaye and Aigle-Leysin, Montreux Oberland-Bernois, you will also find the Waldenburg No.5 or Sandy River Railroad as well as the California Western, which run along the 1500 m railway network. Thanks to the passenger carriages on which you can take a seat, you can look forward to a lift or two. The highlight of every year is the international steam festival, which attracts model railway enthusiasts and their models from all over the world to Le Bouveret. The Swiss Vapeur Parc is open seasonally from mid-March to the beginning of November and looks forward to enchanting young and old alike with its models.
