Erlebniswelt Seeteufel

In the Swiss town of Studen in the canton of Bern, around 33 kilometres from Bern, you will find the Seeteufel adventure world, which was opened in 1960 by Hugo Steiner, one of the first scuba divers and marine aquarists in Switzerland. What started out as the Seeteufel Zoo, with a one-metre anglerfish caught by Steiner in the Mediterranean, has evolved over the years into an animal park, where you can now see more than 50 animal species from five continents. Today you can discover orangutans, ruffed bears, Sunda gavials, Grant's zebras, Humboldt penguins, lynxes, tiger and reticulated pythons, red-necked wallabies and emus as well as dwarf otters. Get up close to various animals on the petting meadow or visit one of the show feedings with the calicoes, Humboldt penguins, Indian clawed otters or the spectacled caimans. As the name Seeteufel , which is now run by the third generation of the Steiner family, promises, there are also various rides and attractions here at the Seeteufel . For example, you can take a spin on the mini railway, the bumper cars or the antique carousel. There are also various playgrounds where children can let off steam. The self-service restaurant, the outdoor dining terrace and the large garden terrace will enchant you with their culinary delights. The Seeteufel adventure world is open all year round, albeit with seasonal restrictions.
