About the Park
Portugal’s oldest zoo is located in Lisbon. It is situated north of the city center in Sete Rios, just a few hundred meters from the Parque Recreativo do Alto da Serafina. It opened in 1884 and was moved to its current location in 1905. Spanning 26 hectares, the zoo features over 300 animal species, many of which can be viewed from above during a cable car ride lasting more than 20 minutes. Among the attractions are primates, African elephants, and a petting zoo for young children.
Notes:
The park operates a dolphinarium. This form of keeping marine mammals is considered controversial and is banned in some countries. For the sake of objectivity, this park is included in the app. Please decide for yourself whether you would like to visit this park.
