About the Park
The municipal zoological garden in Płock is located directly on the Vistula, just under 1.5 kilometres south-east of the old city centre. Since its opening in 1951, the zoo has expanded to cover an area of 17 hectares. The park publishes an annual inventory on its website, showing that the number of animal species has ranged from 500 to just under 600 in recent years. The number of animals living here also varies between 7,000 and almost 9,000. The zoo is known for its female alligator Marta, who is over 90 years old.
