About the Park
In the Upper Austrian market town of Altenfelden in the district of Rohrbach in the upper Mühlviertel, around 34 south-west of Linz, you will find the Altenfelden Zoo, which was founded by Dr Prince Reuss in 1969. The zoo covers an area of around 80 hectares and is home to around 1000 animals from 200 species. You can marvel at hawk owls, Barbary macaques, wolves and zebras, as well as small cats such as cheetahs, servals and pumas. In addition to the food and drink on offer, children are sure to enjoy the mega playground right in the heart of the zoo or a ride on the slow train. Altenfelden Zoo is open all year round, but with seasonal opening hours, allowing visitors of all ages to observe its inhabitants at any time of year.
