About the Park
The Haus des Meeres is one of three zoos in Vienna. Housed in a former flak tower from the time of the Second World War, the exhibition space on offer is constantly growing on an area of only 5,000 square metres. Originally, 1.5 floors of the tower were used and several show tanks were installed, while in modern times all 9 floors are available for visitors. While a Caribbean hammerhead shark tank on floor 10 invites visitors to marvel at the nibble fish and piranhas on floor 2, Komodos and calicoes from the Amazon jungle await visitors on floor 9.
