About the Park
Veldhoven Zoo was opened in 2014 and is one of the younger zoos. It emerged from the Papegaaienpark N.O.P., which was closed in 1992 and 2013. Only a few kilometres west of Eindhoven, birds of prey and exotic birds have an area of around 17 ha at their disposal. The zoo specialises in keeping parrots, so parakeets, cranes and owls account for a large proportion of the 150 species. Over the years, mammals have also been added, such as ibexes, meerkats and zebras.
