About the Park
Originally started as a private zoological collection, the interest in Van Blanchendaell Park increased so much that it opened its doors to the public in May 2007. Since then, Tuitjenhorn, between Bergen op Zee or Alkmaar and Schagen, has been home to over 100 animal species. On an area of more than 13 hectares, the animals are divided according to their origin (Africa, Europe, Asia, Eurasia, Oceania, North and South America). Alpacas and llamas can be found here, as well as peacocks and rhesus monkeys, pelicans and pygmy goats. The offer is rounded off by a large playground, a park railway, a farmer's museum and a windmill.
