The Amsterdam Dungeon

In the centre of Amsterdam, a 5-minute walk from the Dam or a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station, you will find The Amsterdam Dungeon, a chamber of horrors that opened in 2005. Take a journey through 500 years of Amsterdam's terrifying past. In a combination of a chamber of horrors and a history lesson with scary moments, scenes from the Spanish Inquisition, the murder on the Zeedijk, The Torture Master and his torture chamber as well as the burning of witches and other crimes and stories from Amsterdam's dark times are re-enacted by professional actors during your tour of the 9 stations. Often you will find yourself much closer to the action than you would have liked at first. A visit to The Amsterdam Dungeon is recommended for children aged 10 and over.
