Ouderkerk (NL) - Kermis

The fair has always (and even earlier) been an integral part of the streetscape of our village around Queen's Day (and later King's Day)! This is because Ouderkerk aan de Amstel was one of the first villages in the area to organise a fair on Queen's Day. At least the people of Ouderkerk used to know how to celebrate... In Ouderkerk, the fair is organised by the Oranje Committee. In the middle of the village, on Het Kampje, which is just a car park all year round, the fair is set up as the centrepiece of the activities surrounding Queen's Day! The aim is to organise an annual fair that is fun for young and old alike.
