Hillegom (NL) - Kermis

The fair in Hillegom is not just a simple fair, but the centrepiece of the big autumn festivals (Najaarsfeesten) that transform the town into a lively party zone every year.

When you visit the fair, you can expect a colourful hustle and bustle on Jonkheer Mockkade, where one ride follows another. From fast-paced attractions that thrill adrenaline junkies to classic children's carousels, there is something for everyone. The smell of fresh oliebollen, poffertjes and roasted almonds fills the air and invites you to feast.

An absolute highlight of the festival week is the Kortebaandraverij on Friday. On this day, thousands of spectators cheer on the exciting trotting races, an event that perfectly combines tradition and sporting excitement. At the end of the celebrations, spectacular fireworks light up the sky above Hillegom on Sunday evening, ensuring an unforgettable finale.

The Hillegom Autumn Festival thus offers a comprehensive programme: a fun-filled fair, a historic horse racing track, a large market and impressive fireworks. It is a festival that should be enjoyed to the fullest.
