About the Park
It was not until 2005 that the GaiaZoo opened on 25 hectares in Kerkrade, near the border with Aachen. The zoo is divided into 4 areas and houses animals from the continents of Europe, America and Africa. Around 100 animal species from different areas are presented, such as pygmy hippos, gorillas or Brazilian giant tarantulas.
