Once upon a time ... The emperor's new clothes - the Efteling story
No matter how the emperor turned in front of the mirror,
He saw no new clothes.
Just the folds of his bare skin.
Was he really stupid and unworthy of his office?
The court ladies cheered the robes,
which went perfectly with the annual parade.
Hundreds of people came
to marvel at the new clothes.
The emperor went outside ...
He heard applause and admired calls.
But suddenly a boy called out:
"The emperor has nothing on!"
There was silence for a moment.
And then the crowd began to hoot and laugh.
And the emperor?
He bravely brought the move to an end.
In the future he would never be vain.
