Delfzijl (NL) - Pinksterkermis

The Pinksterkermis in Delfzijl is a traditional folk festival that takes over the harbour town every year over the Whitsun weekend. As one of the largest and best-known funfair events in the province of Groningen, it attracts visitors from across the region to the coast. The fairground usually stretches through the town centre all the way to the harbour, giving the event a distinctive maritime flavour.

A key feature of the Delfzijl Pinksterkermis is its successful blend of state-of-the-art rides for adrenaline junkies and classic attractions that particularly appeal to families with children. Alongside the colourful hustle and bustle of the fairground, the programme is often complemented by local events and markets, which fill the entire town with a festive atmosphere.

The combination of the immediate proximity to the water, the aroma of typical Dutch treats such as poffertjes or oliebollen, and the varied entertainment on offer makes this event a firm highlight in the northern region’s calendar of events.
