North America's largest shopping mall is located in Alberta, Canada, around 300 kilometres from Calgary, and goes by the beautiful name of West Edmonton Mall. Until 2004, it was the largest mall in the world for more than two decades. The mall impresses not only with its size, but also with the variety of facilities on offer. There are several cinemas, a water park, an artificial lake with a replica of the Santa Maria and an indoor leisure park: Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro. The indoor park operated by the Triple Five Group was first opened in 1981 and is considered the largest indoor park in North America and was once the largest park of its kind in the world. There are not only several roller coasters here, but many other attractions for the whole family. Triple Five Group also operates two Nickelodeon parks in America.
