About the Park
Yomiuriland is the largest amusement park in Tokyo and is idyllically located in the green suburb of Inagi. Since its opening in 1964, it has delighted visitors of all ages with a perfect blend of thrills, nature, and seasonal highlights. The undisputed star among the more than 40 attractions is the classic roller coaster “Bandit,” which races through the dense treetops at speeds of up to 110 km/h. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can enjoy the view from the Ferris wheel or explore the “Goodjoba!!” area, where children can playfully discover Japanese craftsmanship and industry. Another real adventure for fans is “PokéPark KANTO,” which brings the world of Pokémon to life in nature. In the spring, the area transforms into a sea of pink blossoms when over 1,000 cherry trees bloom. The journey there via the “Sky Shuttle” cable car—which glides directly over the sea of blossoms—is particularly spectacular. In summer, the massive “Pool WAI” water park entices visitors with wave pools and thrilling slides, while Yomiuriland transforms into a magical sea of lights in fall and winter: The world-famous “Jewellumination” attracts visitors from all over with millions of sparkling gemstone LEDs and spectacular laser shows. The park is easily accessible via the Keio Railway line and, with flexible ticket options—ranging from basic admission to an all-inclusive day pass—offers an unforgettable experience away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
