About the Park
In the centre of Great Britain's capital London, directly on the south bank of the Thames near Westminster Bridge, you will find the 135-metre-high London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, which opened on 9 March 2000. The original plan was to operate the Ferris wheel for only five years, but this was quickly abandoned in view of its great success. With 32 air-conditioned gondolas with floor-to-ceiling glass outside the wheel, each gondola can carry a maximum of 28 people on the half-hour ride. With good visibility, you can see up to 40 km into the distance from here, including Windsor Castle. The London Eye is operated by the Merlin Entertainment Group. Tip: Combine your visit to the London Eye with other Merlin attractions and save money.
