The BIG Sheep

In the southwest of England, in the tranquil village of Abottsham in the county of Devon, you will find The Big Sheep Farm & Theme Park. Run as a sheep farm for six generations, Rick Turner decided in 1988 to convert the former agricultural farm, Barton Farm, into a more lucrative animal park with an adjoining restaurant. However, he soon realised that it could not remain just an animal park and so he built various entertainment attractions and rides. Today, you will find a chain carousel, the 400-metre long and up to 13-metre high Rampage Rollercoaster, a tractor safari, swan pedal boats, a park railway, a coffee cup ride, boat swings and much more at The Big Sheep Farm & Theme Park. In the all-weather hall and its attractions such as the wave slide or the climbing frame and toddler area, you can brave any weather in Abottsham. In the Battlefield Combat Zone, you can use eye-safe laser weapons to fight hours of battles between the tanks and the various emplacements. The Big Sheep Farm & Theme Park is most famous for its daily sheep race, where you can cheer on the six competitors Red Ram, Sheargar, Little Pullover, Golden Fleece, Alderknitty and Woolly Jumper to see who wins the race this time. In the farm area, you can watch and sometimes even pet a variety of animals such as sheep, pigs, ducks and dogs in the petting zoo, or watch one of the sheep shearing demonstrations. Of course, The Big Sheep Farm & Theme Park also offers its guests a wide range of culinary delights and is a worthwhile destination for families with children up to the age of 12.
