SEA LIFE Trust Cornish Seal Sanctuary

SEA LIFE aquariums are operated by the Merlin Group, which also includes the Legoland parks, Madame Tussauds, or . Each of the aquariums is designed in the style of a circuit and shows animals in a classic setting. For example, rays are kept in a large shallow tank, while schooling fish are kept in a large ring filled with water several metres in diameter. Each SEA LIFE also has a special focus and shows special features of the animal world in changing exhibitions. For example, turtles or jellyfish are highlighted in particular. A special feature is the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, which is a rescue centre for injured seal pups and belongs to the SEA LIFE Trust. The centre is located on the banks of the River Helford in Cornwall, England , next to the village of Gweek. The mission is to rescue and provide specialist care for sick, injured or distressed seals and other marine animals in need of help that are encountered on England's shores, with a view to releasing them back into their natural environment once they are fully recovered. Seals that cannot be released back into the wild are provided with a permanent home and ongoing care.
