Barry Island Pleasure Park

The United Kingdom includes the countries of Scotland and Wales. Wales, with its capital Cardiff (more than 360,000 inhabitants), has the Barry Island Pleasure Park on the coast of Barry Island in the Vale of Glamorgan, around 16 kilometres from the capital. The park is open every weekend from Easter and every day during the summer holidays until the first weekend in September.

The amusement park is located opposite the sandy beach of Barry and offers a variety of attractions. A Switchback Railway was designed and built by the famous American rollercoaster engineer LaMarcus Thompson especially for the Cardiff Empire Exhibition in Sophia Gardens in 1896 and was the first ride to open here in 1897. There are several roller coasters, two from 2018 and various other rides.
