ZooParc de Beauval

Chosen by Forbes Traveler as one of the 15 best zoos in the world and even found in the world's top 10 zoos by Tripadvisor, ZooParc de Beauval is always worth a visit. Located halfway between Tours and Bourges, the 40-hectare zoo, which opened in 1980 - originally as a bird park - offers visitors a huge range of animals. A total of 800 species are home to over 35,000 animals, including more than 24,000 fish. These live in the Equatorial Dome, built in 2020, where hippos and manatees can also be found. The dome is 38 meters high with a diameter of 100 meters.

Koalas live in the Australia house, while giant pandas live in the Chinese section. A great attraction - included in the price - is the cable car, which connects the areas of the elephant enclosure and the lion enclosure. During the journey, which lasts several minutes, a distance of 800 meters is covered and you get an extraordinary view of the local habitats of the animals.
