About the Park
In the west of France, or rather in the municipality of La Flèche in the Pays de la Loire region, you will find the oldest privately run zoo in France, the Zoo de La Flèche. Opened in 1946 as the Parc Zoologique du Tertre Rouge and run by the European Group amusement park chain since 2017, the 18-hectare zoo is home to around 1600 animals from 160 different species and five continents. You can see some rare reptiles, birds and mammals here, including wolves, pandas from China, polar bears, elephants and white tigers. One of the special highlights of La Flèche Zoo is the hotel facilities, where you can get very close to the animals of Africa, among other things. In the lodges you have the opportunity to observe lions, cheetahs and other animals directly from your "living room", even when the park is already closed for day visitors. Of course, the park also caters for the physical well-being of its visitors, with various snack bars and restaurants serving French and international cuisine. With around 440,000 visitors a year, La Flèche Zoo is one of the most visited nature parks in France and one of the most popular destinations in the Pays de la Loire region.
