Vichy (F) - Luna Park

The Luna Park in Vichy is one of the most important funfairs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and impresses with its expansive dimensions on the banks of the Allier. Nestled in the Centre Omnisports area, which covers a total area of over 120 hectares, the funfair uses a considerable part of the paved event areas directly on the Route du Pont de l'Europe. This generous space allows for around 30 to 40 different attractions – from huge rides to extensive food villages – to be presented without the usual cramped conditions of urban funfairs.

Over the years, the event has become a massive crowd puller. In a typical season, Luna Park attracts tens of thousands of visitors from across the Allier département and neighbouring regions. On busy weekends, the site is transformed into a small town in its own right, with streams of visitors strolling through the generously laid-out rows of stalls. The combination of the sheer size of the site and the high visitor frequency gives the park a dynamic, almost metropolitan energy.

Thanks to its location on the grounds of the sports complex, Luna Park benefits from an excellent infrastructure that can easily handle large crowds. The wide sightlines allow the gigantic silhouettes of the rides to be seen from a great distance across the river, which greatly enhances the visual presence of the park. The size of the area is also cleverly used to create space for the popular themed parades, which have become an integral part of the programme and contribute significantly to the high visitor numbers.
