About the Park

The Foire de Mars in Troyes is one of the most important and traditional funfairs in north-eastern France. It has an impressive history dating back to 1848 and traditionally marks the start of the fair season in the region. While it originally took place in central squares in the city centre, it has now found its permanent home on Boulevard Charles Delestraint, directly in front of the ‘Le Cube’ exhibition centre.

The extensive event site covers around 30,000 square metres and regularly hosts over 170 different showmen's businesses. The atmosphere is characterised by a lively mix of state-of-the-art technology and nostalgic fun. Visitors will find an enormous range of attractions here: from huge high-tech rides that take passengers to heights of over 60 metres to classic family roller coasters, ghost trains and the ever-popular bumper cars. For children, there are numerous gentler carousels, trampolines and game booths such as traditional duck fishing.

An essential part of the identity of this fair is its culinary component. The smell of roasted almonds, candy floss and ‘pommes d'amour’ (candied apples) is just as much a part of the experience as the hearty specialities of Champagne. In the food courts, which often open at lunchtime, visitors can enjoy local delicacies, making the Foire de Mars a popular destination for lunch breaks or a convivial dinner.

The fair runs for three weeks from the end of February to mid-March. Its long duration and varied programme of events, which often includes days with reduced prices, make it a fixture in the social life of the city of Troyes. When the colourful lights of the fairground rides illuminate the boulevard in the evening hours, a magical backdrop is created that spectacularly celebrates the transition from winter to spring in Champagne.
