About the Park

The Foire du Trône is undoubtedly the oldest fair in France. Its history dates back to Lothair of France and the year 957, but it was not until 1805 that a small fair was set up in the suburb of Saint Antoine. Over the years, the fair grew in size and soon took over the Pelouse de Reuilly green space towards the Barrière du Trône and later the surrounding streets and boulevards. In 1957, the Foire du Trône celebrated its 1000th anniversary. In 1964, the fair moved to the edge of the Bois de Vincennes. Since then, the Pelouse de Reuilly has provided fun for young and old alike with around 350 attractions on an area of over 10 hectares every spring. Those with a sweet tooth will be in seventh heaven at the candyfloss, candy apples, crêpes, marshmallows and churros stalls. As every year, the traditional Labour Day fireworks display lights up the sky above the fair, which is not to be missed.
