About the Park
In 1950, the Lille Zoo opened on a small area of less than 4 hectares. Over 400 animals from over 100 species are presented to visitors here. It is particularly noteworthy that the zoo was free to visit until 2016, making it one of the most visited zoos in France. In the meantime, a small entrance fee is charged in order to be able to finance the breeding programs for the red panda, the tapir or the siamang, among other things. The zoo itself is divided into 6 themed areas such as Africa, South America and the tropics.
