Marseillan-Plage (F) - Parc d'Attractions

The Parc d’Attractions in Marseillan-Plage is a permanent summer amusement park on the French Mediterranean coast, located near the Étang de Thau. The history of the amusement park is closely linked to the development of tourism in what was once a small fishing and wine-growing village. As Marseillan-Plage was developed into a seaside resort starting in the 1960s and 1970s amid the construction boom along the Languedoc coast, and the first campgrounds and vacation rentals began to appear, local fairground operators founded the fair to offer summer visitors evening entertainment after a day at the beach. Over the decades, the park evolved from a modest collection of traditional booths into a leisure complex firmly established in the region’s summer calendar.

Today, the fair attracts an estimated several hundred thousand visitors during its three-month summer season, from mid-June to the end of August. On balmy July and August evenings, several thousand people flock to the grounds daily, with the crowd consisting mainly of vacationers from the surrounding campgrounds, families, and young people from the region. Every day from 8:00 p.m. until well past midnight, the area on Avenue de la Méditerranée transforms into a glittering festival mile where colorful lighting effects, music, and the scent of fresh pastries, cotton candy, and churros mingle.

The offerings include a wide range of attractions for all age groups. For adrenaline junkies, there are high-speed rides, upside-down carousels, and roller coasters, while families and younger children can enjoy haunted houses, bumper cars, water rides, and classic children’s carousels. The area is complemented by traditional game booths such as duck fishing, shooting galleries, and games of skill.
