About the Park
In the municipality of Kintzheim in Alsace, west of Sélestat in the Grand Est region of France and only 40 km from the German town of Rust and , you will find France's first bird of prey sanctuary, "Volerie des Aigles". The family excursion destination offers about 50 birds of prey, which sit on pegs and in their aviaries around the extensive castle ruins and in the castle courtyard and can be admired. Whether eagles, buzzards, owls, falcons, vultures, owls, kites or eagle owls, you can admire some of the birds of prey in action during the flight demonstrations that take place several times a day in the castle courtyard. The falconers offer impressive demonstrations with their animals, most of which come from the eagle station's own breeding programme. Volerie des Aigles attaches great importance to presenting the birds in their natural habitat. What the birds of prey show during the demonstrations corresponds to their nature and are not rehearsed tricks. A visit to the eagle sanctuary can be combined with a visit to the La Montagne des Singes animal park in the immediate vicinity. For amusement park lovers, there is of course also in Kintzheim.
