Hesdin (F) - Fête foraine de hesdin

The Fête foraine de Hesdin is a large, traditional funfair held in the charming French town of Hesdin, located in the Pas-de-Calais department. Often referred to as the ‘Foire d'Hiver’ (Winter Fair), this event has a long history and is considered an important social highlight that transforms the town into a lively and colourful amusement park. It brings the typical festive fairground atmosphere to the town centre and attracts visitors from the Seven Valleys (7 Vallées) region.

The fair offers a rich mix of attractions that guarantee thrills for young adults and fun for the whole family. Visitors can look forward to modern rides with fast manoeuvres and bright installations that light up the night sky. At the same time, there are numerous classic fairground attractions, from traditional children's carousels and bumper cars to shooting galleries and games of skill such as duck fishing, which contribute to the nostalgic charm of the festival. As is customary for French fairs, admission to the grounds is free, with each attraction paid for individually. The Fête foraine is also a paradise for gourmets and those with a sweet tooth: the numerous stalls offer typical treats such as churros, chichis, waffles, crêpes and roasted almonds. It serves as an important meeting place to escape the winter blues and celebrate community with rhythmic pop music and bright lights.
